Yesterday I saw the movie Lunana: a yak in the classrom. It was an ok movie. A small view into life in a remote mountain village in Bhutan. Albit a bit feelgood and cheesy. But I really liked that the ending was not what I expected. Rather than returning to the village to live a simple life, be a teacher, marry the shepard girl, and gift your song like the birds. No, he leaves for Australia for the modern affulent life of a pub singer. I interprated it as the main carahter realized his fooly and sadly regretet his illusory dreams of the western lifestyle. A really sad ending. But I may be projecting my own feelings, sitting here on my computer, western and affulent (well for the time being. gotta make the rent next month)
And think, is this everything. I am warm, but modern life is lonely and I never talk to my neigbhours.
